Train approaching station from North
This pannier tank is photographed from the car park of the Banks hotel, emerging from the cutting at the end of Corfe viaduct. It has pulled hard up this little incline, and the effort involved is a graphic illustration of why steam is no longer practical on our railways, no matter how picturesque. And here, in Corfe Castle, it is very picturesque indeed.
