Former General Post Office, Lowgate, Hull
Former General Post Office, Lowgate, Hull
By Walter Pott of the Office of Works, 1908-09. Edwardian Baroque, built of Portland stone with the usual motifs of rustication, columns, open pediments and heavy cornice. Extended later to the right. Not the most exciting building but it does possess the requisite monumentality for civic buildings. Grade II listed.
The ground floor is now occupied by various pubs and bars, above which are flats.
