TF5427 : View across Breast Sand to the Wash
5 km from Ongar Hill, Norfolk, Great Britain

View across Breast Sand to the Wash
A close up view of some of the muddy creeks leading out to Breast Sand just north of Terrington Bund. This was a man made island built in the 1970's as part of an aborted project to dam part of the Wash to collect fresh water from the River Ouse and Nene, presumably on a smaller scale to that seen in Flevoland in the Netherlands.
