This is a replacement structure built of steel replacing a much wider original aqueduct which was washed away in the 1930s. It crosses the River Dane. It is included in the numbering sequence for Trent and Mersey Canal bridges (174). No longer can wide boats reach Middlewich via Middlewich Big Lock.
