I watched this group of several hundred starlings ducking and diving around the harbour in Stranraer as dusk fell and then made my way back to my car where I found them resting in these trees by Bellevilla Road near the Morrisons Store. The sound they make as a group is unmistakable and here is a link to a recording that demonstrates the varied chattering and whistles. Link
