The main part of the building is a boathouse for the Teign Ferry vessels. It is reportedly not much used because of expense. When the boats are not working they're moored on the river. On the left is the compact HQ of Shaldon Sailing Club, undergoing partial replacement of its roof. The Riverside frontage is faced with slices of local sandstone, imitating the effect of random rubble.
