Ten moorhens (and a duck)
Ten moorhens (and a duck)
I had been watching these moorhen chicks in Folkestone Gardens growing all through the year; by December they appeared just about fully grown.
Folkestone Gardens, Deptford
A small park off Trundleys Road in Deptford, immediately south of the London Bridge - Lewisham railway line, on the site of several streets of houses destroyed by a V2 rocket on 7 March 1945.

The park is about 400m long east-west, and no more than 100m wide. At the west end there is a duck pond, at the east end a children's playground and skateboard park, and in between a grassed area. Several of the paths in the park are part of the London Cycle Network.
