Coastal Defence work at Borth
Coastal Defence work at Borth
Borth has a history of coastal flooding and erosion, primarily due to the overtopping of the defences and the breaching of the shingle bank. At present the coastal defences consist of timber groynes and breastworks which are coming to the end of their useful life. These are now being replaced by rock groynes and breakwaters and a reef is being constructed near the cliffs.
