Heathland between Black Gutter Bottom and Deadman Hill, New Forest
A very desolate grid square, at first sight nothing more than heather and bracken on the heathland. On this bright and hot summer's day the heath was teeming with insects and birds, and spiders had spun huge webs amongst the heather. Very dry and crunchy underfoot.
