Shaggy Parasol (Lepiota rhacodes) in Sherwood Pines Forest Park, just catching the late afternoon sun. Often mistaken for the Parasol mushroom - see SK6063 : Parasol mushroom (Lepiota procera) - but equally edible & worth tasting!
An interesting feature in this part of Sherwood Forest that I found out about when orienteering here , is the network of World War 1 trenches in the forest. Many have now been ploughed out, they were shown on the 1978 version of the orienteering map, but some still survive, a relic from when troops were trained here.
