Formartine and Buchan Way
The trackbed of the Formartine and Buchan Railway is now a 80km path between Fraserburgh, Peterhead and Aberdeen. The railway closed in 1979 and was last used as part of the North Sea oil development, moving material up to Fraserburgh.
The haar had briefly lifted revealing a grassy landscape with a herd of cattle who stayed close throughout the evening (I stayed here overnight, having carted water up from Newmachar). Note the selection of baths in the field.
