Loughborough Beam Engine
Considering this engine is in the next town it is criminal of me not to have visited sooner. It's a delightful example of a Watt beam engine (1850s). It was donated in the 1930s to Loughborough college, famous for engineering excellence. The flywheel, governor, beam, cylinder and steam pipe are evident here. It worked in a brewery and waterworks, finishing work in 1934.
