Basford Beam Engine - Wollaton Hall
This engine was one of a pair built by R & W. Hawthorn of Newcastle upon Tyne. They were installed in 1858 by the Nottingham Waterworks Company and worked continuously for 107 years.
Wollaton Hall Country Park

Wollaton Hall is a former stately home in the Nottingham area. The house, grounds (five hundred acres) and outbuildings are run by Nottingham City Council. The steam museum is run by the Nottingham Arkwright society. Inside are many rare and steaming exhibits. Outside is a very rare 1840s horse Whim Gin colliery winder.
Also of interest is the Natural history museum with its geology section.
