'Monster Rock' One of many weird rock shapes on Peninnis Head, St Mary's
The granite on the Isles of Scilly is not so resistant to the weather as that on Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor and hence the combination of salty wind and rain has sculptured the rocks into fantastic shapes. Peninnis Head displays many good examples.
