Farmland, Ardnave, Islay
Islay is the only area in Scotland where choughs breed. Several farms on Islay, including this one, are managed in a way to support the choughs. Choughs feed on invertebrates found in cow dung (each to their own!) and these cows are left outside all year, rather than being over-wintered under cover.
