Christ Church
In 1840 Christ Church was built to replace Oldbury Chapel (St Nicholas), which was very dilapidated and too small for a rapidly rising population. In 1992 two thirds of Christ Church was converted into offices and the worship area reduced but the church is still active within the Church of England
