Cow in Eyeworth Wood, New Forest
Cow in Eyeworth Wood, New Forest
This cow was sitting in a sunny spot amongst the beeches of Eyeworth Wood, close to Eyeworth Pond. It is unusual to find cattle deep in the wooded areas of the open Forest, probably because these huge beasts find it difficult more difficult than the ponies to navigate the undergrowth (plus the lack of suitable fodder for these ruminants). The yellow plastic tag in the right ear is a DEFRA identification tag.
