Pontarddulais Bridge
Adeiladwyd y bont bresennol dros Afon Llwchwr yn 1937. Cyn hynny bu bont pedwar bwa hynafol yn dyddio o'r 13g yn ei rhychwantu ac fe'i gelwid yn lleol y 'Bont Fawr'. Am saith mlynedd safai'r ddwy bont ochr yn ochr â'i gilydd cyn i'r awdurdodau yn eu doethineb ddymchwel yr un hynafol. Yn ol Deric John enw gwreiddiol Pontarddulais oedd Pontaberdulais - enw felly sy'n cyfeirio nid at y bont ei hun ond ei lleoliad ger aber Afon Dulais. Cyn i'r afon gael ei gwenwyno ar ddiwedd y 19g gan ddiwydiant bu ambell berson yn ei physgota gyda chwrwglau. Yr afon hefyd yw'r ffin rhwng Sir Gaerfyrddin a Dinas a Sir Abertawe.
The present bridge over the Llwchwr River was built in 1937. Prior to its construction a C13 four arched bridge known locally as 'Y Bont Fawr' (The Great Bridge) spanned the river. For approximately seven years both bridges stood side by side until the authorities decided in their wisdom to demolish the medieval structure. According to Deric John the original name of Pontarddulais was Pontaberdulais - a name which refers not to the bridge itself but to its location near the Afon Dulais confluence. Before industry poisoned the river at the end of the nineteenth century a few men still fished from it using coracles. The river also marks the boundary between Carmarthenshire and City & County of Swansea.
