The ruins of Rhydygelli Fawr (Trans 'Ford of the Grove')in Cwmcerdinen (trans. The valley of the mountain ash stream). According to the 1841 Census it was a public house with William Jones (60)'publican' at its helm. By 1861, his son in law, John Davies (53) 'Ag Labourer & publican' had taken over the reins.
