Looking up at the TQ3079 : London: Boadicea statue from the balustrade directly alongside the River Thames. The famous clock tower (St. Stephen's Tower - the name Big Ben actually refers to the grteat bell) in the background.
BIG BEN It is a common misconception that the actual name for what most people call Big Ben is "St Stephen's Tower" however this is wrong. The official name for the tower is actually (and rather boringly) "The Clock Tower" I am sorry to be so pedantic but I am a guide at the Houses of Parliament and if you don't believe me have a look at the official web-site for the building at www.parliament.gov Personally I like to call it "Big Ben" - at least thats how it is known by most people!
