Known to his friends as Bill Authors, he headed a committee was formed to decide what to do with the canal... Fill it in or restore it to the canal you see today? Bill believed passionately the canal should be restored and worked tirelessly to convince others that weren't so sure . . . Now sadly passed away we remember him and a story through the bridge bearing his name.
