Ermine Street
Ermine Street
The modern A15 here follows the course of the old Roman Road that links London with Lincoln and York. This ancient highway was known by the Saxons as Ermine Street. It is believed to have been named after the Earningas, a "tribe" of people in the Cambridge area through which it passed.
