The Percy Hobbs
This pub seemed to be doing well as an out-of-town pub-restaurant, but it seems that the recession has taken its toll. In January 2011 the tenants apparently abandoned the pub with unpaid rent and it has been reposessed by the owners, brewery chain Mitchells and Butlers, which is advertising a new business franchise.
It had been renamed from the New Inn in 1982, in honour of a local man who had been drinking there since the 1920s, presumably not continuously.
