Ruined buildings at Foresthead Quarry
Ruined buildings at Foresthead Quarry
The extensive Foresthead Quarry was used for both limestone and shale extraction. These parallel rows of brick piers, many now toppled, are thought to be the remains of a possible conveyor system for removing material out of the quarry. They would have connected to the system of parallel tramways leading north-east.
