35-37 King Street, Manchester
Gorgeous Georgian house, built in 1736 for Dr Peter Waring. It has a pedimented doorcase and all the windows have moulded architraves with triple keystones. It looks in immaculate condition. Grade II listed.
It served as a bank from the late C18th, and is currently a clothes shop. The original interiors have gone and its original wings have been replaced by the glass shop fronts visible in the photo. Manchester has remarkably few Georgian buildings so despite the mutilations, this is a valuable survival.
