Weir on the river Stour near Marnhull
Weir on the river Stour near Marnhull
There has probably been a weir at this location for several hundred years, the purpose being to increase the head (depth & volume) of water to drive the many water mills that are to be found on the river Stour. This weir is typical in its construction of others on the river such as the one downstream at Fiddleford.
