Hazards Venue
This is the bridge to the Reynold Building of the University of Manchester. The poster in the window is advertising the Hazards Conference 2006. The Hazards Campaign is a loose confederation of self help and labour organisations who are trying to reduce the death toll and misery caused by work in the U.K and the wider world. In the U.K at least 4 workers a week never come home. The governments own figures show we are wasting vast amounts of money each year killing, injuring and making workers sick. This combined with the cost of damage to property caused by industrial accidents etc amounts to a total cost to society of around 10 billion pounds a year (approx 2% of GDP). For more info see Link
