Standing Water on Aveley Marshes SSSI, firing range butts nearby

Part of the Inner Thames Marshes SSSI in June 1998 when the site was a disused MOD firing range. The pool and nearby ditches were excellent for dragonflies, water bugs and beetles and contained various wetland plants. The marsh is now an RSPB Nature Reserve, the butts have been removed, and there is a cabin and pond viewing platform for visitors at about this point.
