St Anne's Church
The church was built in 1881 by J M and H Taylor under the patronage of E Joseph Sidebotham, a local industrialist and philosopher. It is brick built with a clay-tile roof and it is cruciform in plan with a crossing tower. It is notable for its interior, which has outstanding craftsmanship in stone, glass, ceramics (mosaics) and iron. The glass is by Heaton Butler and Bayne and the mosaics are by Salviati & Co of Venice. It was listed as Grade II* on the 20 July 1977 but has since been elevated to Grade I. Link
