NG8327 : South from Angel's Hill

taken 6 years ago, near to Kirkton, Highland, Great Britain

South from Angel's Hill
South from Angel's Hill
This little, steep-sided hill close to Kirkton it topped by a small burial ground. At one time, an iron age dn stood here. This view looks over some of the 20th century gravestones towards Loch Alsh, with the high point of the far hill being Glas Bheinn, with summit in NG8122.

Footnote: Geograph Moderator James Yardley has pointed out that the Gaelic name for this hill is Cnoc nan Aingeal, which translates as 'Hill of the Angels', so the singular Angel in the popular English spelling of the name of the hill should strictly be a plural (Angels').
