SE2053 : Bog trotting ahead
taken 6 years ago, near to Bland Hill, North Yorkshire, Great Britain

Bog trotting ahead
The footpath from the Sun Inn towards Bank End Farm crosses the low watershed between the Washburn and Oak Beck. Here is an area of poor drainage and boggy ground with several squelchy areas to avoid. The beginning of the Oak Beck valley is seen ahead to the left of the tree. This is most likely to be a glacial overflow channel with the Oak Beck valley being overdeepened by meltwaters.
