View towards landfill site across Wennington Marsh. The artificial hills (recent landfill) occupy areas of former coastal grazing marsh closer to the Thames Estuary. This picture shows one of the main drains which snakes across the surviving marshland. The area is protected as part of the Inner Thames Marshes SSSI and is owned and managed by the RSPB.
