Dead oak and living oak silhouetted in the sunset
When this area of former parkland was planned in the early years of the 19th century as part of the Ickworth Estate, a large number of oak trees were planted. Several have toppled in recent years, including the one to the left in this image. The other tree is still surviving, although its future life must be limited.
