Overwater Marina entrance north of Audlem, Cheshire
This is an enormous new marina off the Shropshire Union Canal, opened in 2010, and not yet showing* on available satellite images.
The Overwater name comes from the original name of Monks Hall Farm (to the east of the canal) which until the late 1800s was called Over the Water Farm. When a pedigree Holstein Friesians herd was established on the farm in the 1960s the herd was named the Overwater Herd. The farm can only be reached by crossing the canal, the River Weaver or the Spinnaker Brook.
* It is now! Dec 2016.
