Locos at Longsight depot a view from the footbridge
A typical view from the footbridge at the back of Longsight depot of stabled locos from that period. Class 40 and class 47 await the next turn of duty. Longsight was just one of a number of depots in the Manchester area at the time. Reddish, Newton Heath and Guidebridge all provided stabling and fuel facilities for locos then. This depot is still open but you will not find many locomotives stabled here these days.
