Pensychnant
Pensychnant is the Gothic country house built by Abraham Henthorn Stott for his own use in 1877. His company, in partnership with two of his sons, was responsible for building a large number of mills, churches and workers' housing developments in the Lancashire cotton districts. Several nearby properties are also attributed to members of this large family. Today, Pensychnant and the surrounding estate are run as a conservation centre and nature reserve.
