Paying Homage
Paying Homage
The four bronze plaques on the memorial records the loss in two World Wars of 286 men and women from Caernarfon, a town with a population of less than 10,000. Two hundred and eleven died in WWI, including 14 sets of 2 brothers and 3 of 3 brothers. In WWII, 75 men were lost. Thankfully, although Caernarfon men and women have served in all the conflicts since, including Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan, the town has been spared further loss of life.
