The wind was blowing the fox's scent towards me and taking the sound of my approach away behind me so I was able to watch this hungry fox quarter the orchard, pouncing on rodents in the grass and generally being focused on hunting and eating, unaware of my presence. However it was only a few seconds later that it caught my shape and glancing at me the fox ran confidently away to the field corner and cover. However a fox in broad daylight right next to a farm cannot rely on its luck running for long...
