A view SE from Treherbert railway station
Treherbert is the northern terminus of the Rhondda Line from Cardiff. This view is looking SE towards Ynyswen station. Because the line is single track ahead, a notice reminds train drivers that a single line token is required. This is a safety precaution to prevent two trains occupying the same section of track.
The sidings on the right are a reminder that formerly the station was the connecting point of the Rhondda and Swansea Bay Railway with the collieries of the Rhondda Fawr valley.
