Coastal path entering MOD property
Coastal path entering MOD property
The coastal path here is high above the sea and runs between the cliffs and the boundary fence of Portreath airfield. Here it enters the airfield territory, with appropriate warnings. The airfield has had a varied history, first as CDE Nancekuke, experimenting with chemical weapons, and later as RAF Portreath, an early defence warning base.
