SD7807 : Radcliffe Times Building

taken 12 years ago, near to Radcliffe, Bury, England

Radcliffe Times Building
Radcliffe Times Building
The Radcliffe Times newspaper began in 1897. These offices, on Church Street West, have stood empty since it was merged with the Bury Times Group from whose Bury offices it now operates. Not obvious from the photo is that the rear elevation of the building descends two floors to reach the level of the River Irwell.

In 2003, as part of the "Re-Inventing Radcliffe" Development Strategy, it was prposed that the building be converted as a base for CITE, the public art commissioning agency but it hasn't happened.
