Wildflowers on Devil's Ditch, Burwell, Cambridgeshire
Wildflowers on Devil's Ditch, Burwell, Cambridgeshire
Wildflowers on south-west side of Devil's Ditch, including scabious and wild carrot. The Devil's Ditch (or Dyke) runs in an almost straight line for 7.5 miles (12km), from Reach in the north-west to Woodditton in the south-east. The Dyke is a public footpath, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and part of it is a Special Area of Conservation.

The Devil's Dyke Restoration Project was set-up in 2002 to re-create the chalk grassland typical of this area (these flourishing wild flowers show that it is working!), and to ensure sustainable management of the site. For more information, see: LinkExternal link
