Sir John Fogge (1425-1490)represented the county in parliament 1478, was sheriff at various times and was treasurer to the royal household. He married twice, both wives called Alice. He renovated the church and built the tower at his own cost.

At the time of the picture various chairs and objects surrounded the tomb as well as on top.
