Mains Interceptor & Cooling Water Pumphouse
Mains Interceptor & Cooling Water Pumphouse
This is part of the Mains interceptor which cleaned any residual oil in the water before it was returned to the River Thames. The building at the back is the Coooling Water Pump House. It took water from the River Thames and pumped it to various production units on Shell Haven Refinery to use for cooling.
The Mains has been cleaned and demolished. The CWPH has been sealed to and from the Thames and the upper part of the building has been demolished.
