Ex-LNW 0-8-0s dumped at Bescot Locomotive Depot
Surrounded by mountains of coal is a string of ex-LNW 0-8-0s: the one at the end is No. 49126 (built 8/1910 as a G1, rebuilt as G2a in 8/39 and just withdrawn), but the nearer one, No. 49430, is a G2 built in 11/21 which proved to be the very last, being withdrawn in 12/64. Bescot Depot always had more 0-8-0s than any other depot and by 1962 many were surplus.
