TQ3141 : St Bartholomew, Burstow: East window

taken 6 years ago, near to Burstow, Surrey, Great Britain

St Bartholomew, Burstow: East window
St Bartholomew, Burstow: East window
The east window depicts the Epiphany (or arrival of the Magi / Three Kings). The choice of subject was probably deliberate, as their stargazing recalls the famous Rector of Burstow, Astronomer Royal John Flamsteed who is buried in the church TQ3141 : St Bartholomew, Burstow: Flamsteed memorial.

Below the window is a three-part reredos (triptych) whose side panels depict the arms of St Bartholomew (the church's patron saint) and St George.
