Lower Shira Dam
Completed in 1956, impounds Lochan Sron Mor acting as headpond for a tunnel stretching 4 miles under Clachan Hill to Clachan Power Station. The gatehouse for the tunnel is the structure in the upper middle of the photo. Compensation water is discharged to maintain flow in the River Shira below this dam.
