On the trackbed of the former Holywell Railway
Today the old trackbed forms a wide, sound path giving visitors fast access to the Greenfield Valley Heritage Park. It was opened as a railway line in 1869, primarily to transport mineral freight, quarried raw materials and other associated goods to the wider world. It nearly made it to its centenerary but closed in 1954, pre-Beeching cuts era.
