Half-timbered house, Salthrop
Half-timbered house, Salthrop
A half-timbered house beside the road on the steep hill through Salthrop. This was the lodge to Basset Down House, country seat of the Maskelyne family from 1771. Basset Down House was demolished in 1958, but the lodge remains as a memorable landmark on this hill.
