Open Day at Five Rise Locks
The public were allowed into the drained locks during their maintenance. Some of the massive oak gates have been replaced after 25 years of service.
The gate shown is an old one at the bottom of the locks. The pipe over the sill is attached to a pump which is keeping the lock reasonably dry for access.
